Healthcare Empowerment & Lively hood (HEAL) & Wear Foundation

HEAL Foundation came into existence in Jan 2012 for the purpose of serving the under served people of Bihar. It was registered under Trust act of india at Patna. Late Mrs Meera rani singh, a social worker , was the founder and the aim of NGO was to work in field of healthcare and skill development to help people earn their living.

HEAL Foundation did numbers of health camps , hygiene awareness drives, educating society about cleanliness and flood relief measures.

Gradually, trustees felt the need to fight avoidable blindness and started community services in our 2 hospitals in Bihar.

  • Yogmayadevi eye hospital , Patna. Established in 2017.

Araria centre -In collaboration with – azimprem ji foundation, second sight (uk), helpageindia, Ayushman Bharat

At present we are organizing 6 camp every week in different blocks of Araria providing eye care service. In last financial year we did more than 2500 surgeries out of which more than 50% cases were free of cost.

We have already done 1800 surgeries in current financial year and we aim to do around 3000 surgeries for which we seek your support to achieve the common goal.

Ayushman Bharat Yojna

Patna Centre – collaboration with Ayushman Bharat Yojna

At present we are organizing three camps every week in different blocks of Patna, Viashali, Muzzafarpur and Saran districts providing eye care service to poor and needy people. We have developed 2 Vision Centers, one in MuzzafarpurDistrict and One in Saran District. Well trained optometrist takes care of Vision Centre and organizes camps, selects patients and counsels them for cataract surgery. Patients are transported to base hospital and operated. Follow up is done at vision centre. Thus, we deliver eye care service at door step even in most underserved districts of Bihar.

At present we are doing around 100 free eye surgeries monthly. In last financial year we did 1200 surgeries at patnacentre. We target to do minimum of 1800 eye surgeries free of cost by end of this financial year.

We have successfully completed projects of Helpage Indiawhich supported cataract surgery in supaul district and patna district, Vitamin Angels for distributing Vitamin A and Tab Albendazole in entire Bihar, Lions club to organize eye screening camps in slums, villages and school screening. We have been doing Eye screening camps in collaboration with HDFC BANK in past.
